Alternatives to Therapy Part 1
If you’re wondering where I’ve been
since I turned in my last report:
Highway and airports
Fighting gravity,
Parabola, concavity
Earth always holding you up
pulling you down
Ran out of money
Nine months in a ghost town
Venus overhead, part of the walking dead
Sleepwalking on rooftops, tripping acid on Jupiter
Watching Earthrise
Careful where you set your eyes
Dare not to compare
Next time you look-
I won’t be there.
Imperative edit to the narrative.
Cloud forest, Emerald triangle
Progress is a long arch- not a right angle
Office park in March, Paradise in April
Seventeen hours in a day
No goodbye no good way
First night in a cheap motel
Second in a national park
The places that are still dark are
The only places with stars
Back to primitive
God help me I’m limited
Twenty-eight is the new eighteen
If you need to slow it down
Get off screen.
Still fighting for sanity,
Falling for vanity.
See the tide ocean swell
Never could ride emotion well
But could lay it down in words
If this is survival it’s absurd
Convertible on a blueberry farm
If you can’t do good
Do no harm.
Learn how to weave, touch what’s real
Everyone leaves, that’s just the deal.
Spend time alone
Practice makes perfect
If you can’t do it right
At least make it worth it.
Alternatives to therapy
Just my disposition
Couple times cross country
I prefer north to south
That’s my rendition
Never been one
for asking permission
Just like the ocean tide
Cyclical volition
Live a life worth living
That’s my only mission
